Are you astonished how quickly
some days past by? On most days
do you complete all of the tasks
that you planned for the day?
If not, why?

Today, many people have the problem of not being able to effectively manage their time, which in turn results in them being stressed. Whether you are at home or at work aligning time management and stress is an issue for most of us.  We live very busy lives.  But, it is important for you to try to find some balance in your life.

Managing your time on a daily basis can help you to begin to accomplish what is most important for each day.  Once you get that under control, then you can initiate a plan to manage your time for activities on a weekly basis.  Prioritizing your tasks, activities, or goals according to the outcome you desire and what is most important to you can help with relieving pressure in your life.

Most of us go about our day trying to conquer too much and are aware that we may be stretching our abilities.  Interruptions happen causing us to reschedule the time we set aside for our agenda.  When we do not achieve everything we hoped to for that day we feel tension.  By the way, when you think about all the things you would like to get done for the day are you setting aside time for a little R&R (Rest and Relaxation)?

Well, we should even if it is for ten or fifteen minutes.  It will help you to feel refreshed and energized so that you can get through the rest of your day or ready for the next day.  Finding some time to relax will help you to deal with feeling overwhelmed.

Time Management Skills

It is best to stop trying to squeeze in doing too much in one day.  There is always tomorrow.  One way to begin managing your stress is to learn time management skills.  Begin to prioritize, plan, and take action . . .

For instance, use some type of planning aid and list the tasks based on priority that you would like to or have to accomplish for each day of the week.  Once this is done, estimate how much time it will take you to finish each one.  This will help you to see just how much you can realistically do each day, week, and so on.  If you are not able to get everything done, do not stress, stay focused on what is most important and rearrange your schedule.

Here are some other simplistic techniques that can help you with stress when you are mindful of how you spend your time:

stress relief methods

When incorporating time management into your daily routine, make sure your duties have been planned and organized so that your time is being utilized wisely. Spend any free time in your schedule to rejuvenate yourself.  Depending on how much extra time you have left, you may want to do a task scheduled for the following day.

However in order to minimize stress, you will want to ensure you have some spare time to relax and do something you enjoy each day.

Utilize your time by completing activities as scheduled, so that you are not feeling pressured when hurrying to finish them later.  Procrastination costs you time and money.  It will be less strenuous on you by starting your activities as scheduled.  This will eliminate you from having to do them within a smaller time frame.  If this occurs you may want to move the activity to the next day.

Staying focused on your schedule will help you to prevent postponing your planned tasks.

Remain organized in your home and work life.  In doing so, can help you to use your time more resourcefully.  For example, when you are organized it is easier for you to quickly locate your belongings or items.  You save time by not having to find misplaced objects.  Being orderly helps you to save time, which can be used on doing what is most important to you or in getting your job done.

Being unorganized can cause you pointless upset.

When setting goals make sure they are achievable and you are committed.  Sometimes when we do not accomplish our goals we feel frustrated and agitated.   Stay calm and determine the reasons why you were not able to reach your goal.  It could be due to a number of reasons, such as; lack of motivation or focus, poor planning, or more.

Once you have pinpointed the causes, correct it and move forward.

Occasionally we do not go beyond our comfort zone in order to reduce the stress in our life.  Breaking through the barrier of our comfort zone can be scary.  However, at times it is necessary so that we are able to manage our time and feel relief from worry.  In order to manage your time in a healthy manner, you may need to get away from the same daily routine.  Start on making changes for better living and have a plan for achieving your tasks.

Take the first step towards making a positive change in your life and do not let fear stop you.

Time is a gift and cannot be recovered.  Manage it and use it wisely to live a life that is fulfilling for you with no regrets.  Use time to enjoy yourself; learn to relax; be aware when you need to take a break; and do not take on more than you can handle.

Plan and organize your time for a more simplified, healthier, happier, and balanced life for you and others who are important to you in your life.
